Core elements for energy security

According to Главком: During a speech in Germany, DTEK CEO Maksym Timchenko outlined three critical factors that could strengthen energy security. He emphasized that the first component is people, who play a vital role in ensuring the stability of energy systems. The second factor, according to Timchenko, is planning-this includes developing decentralized energy facilities and securing the production of necessary equipment. The third component involves safety measures, such as building protective structures and air defense systems.

Why Ukraine’s experience matters

Earlier, Maksym Timchenko spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he urged the international community to help restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. He stated:

“We have much to share. And I do not see Europe’s energy security without Ukraine. We are investing not only in Ukraine’s energy security but also in that of the entire European continent.” - Maksym Timchenko

Timchenko’s remarks in Germany highlight critical areas that could enhance energy security not just for Ukraine but for Europe as a whole. Given the growing challenges around energy independence, these recommendations could serve as a foundation for deeper cooperation between Ukraine and European nations. Successfully implementing these factors could help restore energy infrastructure and improve overall regional stability.
