According to Visit Ukraine: Today, November 22, Ukraine honors the memory of millions of innocent victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933. It was a man-made genocide, where the totalitarian system took the lives of countless people. We remember them to not forget the truth about this terrible tragedy and to prevent similar horrors in the future.
The memory of the Holodomor is our strength that unites us and our duty to future generations. Today we light a candle of memory at home, at work, in our hearts. We remember. We are here. We will endure this heavy trial together.
Let us remember the Holodomor so as not to repeat the mistakes of the past and to prevent future tragedies.
