Head of Kirovohrad Council Gave His Son an Apartment Worth 5 Million UAH: Details of the Scandal

According to glavcom.ua: The property is an 84.8 square meter apartment in Kyiv worth 4.95 million UAH. The son, a 'bebevets', became the owner of this property on July 25 based on a donation agreement certified by a private notary from Kropyvnytskyi.

The Head of the Kirovohrad Regional Council Yuriy Drozd gifted an apartment to his son Oleksiy, who heads the Department of Activity Support of the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB). This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing data from the declaration registry.

Details and Financial Aspects of the Gift

According to 'Glavkom', the apartment is located in a new building at Borshchahivska Street, 206 (Solomianskyi district). In this building, for example, a one-room apartment of 54 square meters is currently on sale for 3.45 million UAH.

Several years before this expensive gift, the head of Kirovohrad region generously showered his son Oleksiy with significant sums of money. In particular, in 2021, Yuriy Drozd gifted him 3.5 million UAH, and in 2023 - 2.5 million UAH.

The donation of an apartment worth nearly 5 million UAH by the head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration to his son raises questions about the possible motives behind such actions. This information may provoke public outrage and criticism regarding the potential corruption component of such a gift.
