Hourly Power Outage Schedules in Ukraine: What is Known About the Date and Reasons
According to Главком: Starting from January 2, hourly power outage schedules are being implemented in Ukraine. This decision has become necessary due to the consequences of Russian attacks on the country's energy facilities. Power restrictions will be applied, particularly for industrial consumers.
The General Director of DTEK, Maxim Timchenko, noted that the winter of 2023 will be the most challenging since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. He emphasized that the situation in the energy system may change, so consumers should be prepared for possible changes in the timing and volume of power outages at their addresses. Responsible organizations, such as Ukrenergo, have stated that information about outages may be updated depending on the circumstances.
These measures are aimed at ensuring the stability of energy supply in the face of increasing challenges facing the Ukrainian energy system. Consumers are advised to prepare their households for possible power outages to minimize inconveniences in everyday life.
The introduction of hourly outage schedules is a response to serious threats to the energy infrastructure that have arisen due to military actions. This decision aims not only to preserve the energy system but also to ensure a fair distribution of resources among consumers during a crisis period.
