Hourly Power Outage Schedules in the Kyiv Region

According to Главком: On March 5, 2026, hourly power outage schedules are in effect across the Kyiv region. These measures are necessary to limit electricity consumption due to ongoing challenges facing Ukraine's energy sector. The distribution system operator DTEK has provided the outage schedules.

According to the plan, from 08:00 until the end of the day on March 5, parts of Ukraine will implement hourly power outage schedules, alongside power limitation schedules for industrial consumers. Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Valentyn Mondriivskyi, emphasized the importance of these measures in a recent interview.

Kyiv Region Power Outage Timetable

  • Group 1.1 – power off from 10:30 to 14:00
  • Group 1.2 – power off from 10:30 to 14:00
  • Group 2.1 – power off from 21:00 to 24:00
  • Group 2.2 – power available all day
  • Group 3.1 – power off from 14:00 to 17:30
  • Group 3.2 – power off from 14:00 to 17:30
  • Group 4.1 – power off from 16:00 to 18:00
  • Group 4.2 – power available all day
  • Group 5.1 – power off from 18:00 to 21:00
  • Group 5.2 – power available all day
  • Group 6.1 – power off from 08:00 to 10:30 and from 17:30 to 20:00
  • Group 6.2 – power off from 08:00 to 10:30 and from 17:30 to 20:00

The total need for the restoration and modernization of Ukraine's energy sector over the next ten years is estimated at $90.6 billion USD. This figure is 34% higher than the previous damage assessment, highlighting the scale of the challenge. These rolling blackouts are a direct response to the immense strain on the national grid following years of conflict.

The current outage schedules for the Kyiv region form part of a strategic approach to managing energy consumption, which helps reduce strain on the unstable power system. The updated cost assessment for modernizing the energy sector underscores the critical need for investment and reforms to ensure the country's future energy security.
