Transport Support for Odesa

According to Міністерство інфраструктури: The communities of Ukraine are providing transport support to Odesa due to the difficult situation with electricity supply caused by Russian shelling. In the Odesa region, 40% of public transport operates on electricity, complicating the transportation of the population amid energy shortages.

Assistance from Ukrainian Communities

The Lviv community has decided to provide 10 buses to assist the residents of Odesa. The Kropyvnytskyi community is also transferring 10 buses, while the Mykolaiv community is providing 5 buses. The Zhytomyr community has also joined the initiative by transferring 5 buses, while the Mariupol community is providing 3 buses. The Vinnytsia community is also transferring 3 buses, and the Bila Tserkva community is joining the campaign by donating their buses.

The project 'Shoulder to Shoulder: United Communities', implemented since 2023, has become a platform for uniting the efforts of different cities. To this project, 1100 communities have already joined, supporting each other and jointly addressing urgent issues in times of war. As Oleksiy Kuleba noted,

“In the difficult conditions of war, communities across the country stand shoulder to shoulder and unite efforts to support each other and jointly address urgent issues.”

Thus, the communities of Ukraine demonstrate solidarity and readiness to help each other in the face of military trials.

This initiative serves as a vivid example of cooperation and solidarity among Ukrainian communities, especially in times of crisis. The experience gained during the implementation of the 'Shoulder to Shoulder' project confirms the importance of inter-municipal support in ensuring the livelihoods of cities suffering from the consequences of war. This assistance not only alleviates transport issues in Odesa but also contributes to strengthening the community at the national level.
