Weather Forecast for May 16

According to Главком: Across most of Ukraine, May 16 is expected to be largely dry, but conditions will be different in the western regions. There, daytime thunderstorms are forecast, with the potential for hail and strong gusts. According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, a yellow (Level I) danger warning has been issued for most western oblasts.

Conditions in Kyiv

In the capital, Kyiv, May 16 will bring partly cloudy skies but no rain. Winds will blow from the south at 5–10 m/s. Overnight temperatures in the Kyiv region will range from 6 to 11°C, climbing to 18–23°C during the day. In Kyiv itself, the mercury will dip to 9–11°C at night and rise to 21–23°C in the afternoon.

Looking ahead, atmospheric fronts are predicted to move across Ukraine toward the end of the week, bringing rain and spring thunderstorms. These adverse conditions could disrupt energy, construction, and utility operations, as well as slow down traffic. The most comfortable temperatures are expected in the southern and eastern parts of the country.
