Ukrainian Intelligence Reports Russian Military Losses Surpass 1.3 Million
Russia's Casualty Figures and Geopolitical Moves
According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has disclosed intelligence from the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) concerning Russia's military losses and its geopolitical strategy. According to information obtained by Ukrainian intelligence services, Russia internally assesses its total casualties at over 1.3 million personnel and is planning to escalate conflict in the Middle East. Zelenskyy shared these details following a briefing from GUR head Kyrylo Budanov.
Documents reportedly obtained from the enemy indicate a shift in the breakdown of these losses:
- 62% are fatalities;
- 38% are wounded personnel.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy: 'The Russians themselves, in their closed official reports, give the level of their total losses as 1 million 315 thousand killed and seriously wounded. We have reason to believe that the data on this level of losses is understated.'
Furthermore, Ukrainian intelligence has acquired updated information on Moscow's military cooperation with North Korea, pointing to an intensification of military ties between the two nations. These figures, if accurate, represent staggering losses for a modern military. Zelenskyy has also directed the GUR to increase its focus on Russia's military-industrial complex, signaling Ukraine's intent to bolster its countermeasures as the security situation deteriorates.
Conflict Severity and Preparedness for New Challenges
The revelations about Russia's heavy casualties and its deepening military partnership with North Korea underscore the severity of the ongoing war and the potential for broader regional escalation. In light of this intelligence, Ukraine is likely to concentrate efforts on strengthening its defensive capabilities and readiness for new threats. The sustained high intensity of the conflict demands that Ukrainian authorities remain agile and adapt swiftly to evolving security conditions.
