Kharkiv residents will receive water according to schedules from November 25
In Kharkiv, starting from November 25, residents will receive water according to schedules after the latest attack by the Russian Federation on critical infrastructure. According to the mayor Ihor Terekhov, damage to the power supply forced the city to switch to its own generation, which means that water supply is operating under restrictions. This is reported by “Suspilne Kharkiv” citing mayor Ihor Terekhov.
Water supply schedules in Kharkiv
The mayor clarified that on the night of November 25, the city lost a key transformer substation that supplied electricity to the water supply system. Because of this, utility services are forced to supply water at specified intervals, while repairs on the networks continue. It remains unclear when a fixed schedule will be announced, Terekhov has not yet said.
As of the morning, about 60% of subscribers are receiving water. In some areas, restrictions and reduced pressure are in place. The main changes relate to the following points:
- The city's transition to its own generation
- Water supply from 06:30 to 09:00
- Further restrictions due to repair work.
The city council warns that the stabilization of the situation depends on the pace of restoration of the power grid and the work of the crews.
Consequences of the attacks and situation in the region
According to the head of the OVA Oleg Sinehubov, the Russian attacks damaged the infrastructure not only in Kharkiv. In Chuhuiv, about 25 thousand subscribers are cut off from electricity. In Kharkiv itself, water supply is limited due to damage to equipment and necessary reconnections of systems after previous attacks.
On November 24, the city council warned that there would be no water in the city at night, as specialists were readjusting the networks. The water supply was restored in the morning, but further restrictions may last throughout the day.
Earlier, we reported that in the evening of November 23, Russian drones launched an attack on Kharkiv, causing a series of explosions in the city.
