93% of heat suppliers violate rules: why bills come fully
Ukrainians may receive full heating bills even if they receive a limited amount of heat. According to the data, up to 93% of utility companies issue bills with violations. The head of the 'Consumer Union of Utility Services' Oleg Popenko emphasized that this will be a serious problem this heating season. He noted that incorrect billing could become a more serious issue than insufficient heating.
Popenko warned citizens about the possible lack of heat and pointed out the risk of receiving full bills even with limited supply. He explained that the lack of control over utility monopolies could lead to unjustified charges. The expert provided statistics showing that over 90% of utility companies calculate payments with violations, as well as highlighted the increase in debt in the first months of the heating season.
