Who among the military is entitled to receive financial assistance in 2026

In 2026, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine may receive financial assistance to address social and domestic issues. The payment is provided once a year and is made under clearly defined conditions, taking into account the available fund of monetary provision. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The ministry emphasizes that in 2026 the procedure and grounds for payments are regulated by the order of the Minister of Defense dated January 4, 2026, No. 38/ud. Assistance is not automatic and is assigned only after reviewing the relevant documents.

Financial assistance to the military in 2026: amount of payment

In 2026, financial assistance is paid in the amount of the monthly monetary provision of the serviceman. It includes:

• monthly salary;
• salary by military rank;
• seniority bonus;
• monthly additional payments that the serviceman is entitled to on the day of signing the order (excluding rewards).

Who is entitled to financial assistance in 2026

Payments can be received by servicemen once a year under specified conditions. Among them:

• disability received as a result of injury related to the defense of Ukraine;
• families of servicemen who are in captivity, are hostages, interned, or missing;
• death of close relatives of the serviceman;
• birth or adoption of a child;
• long-term treatment, rehabilitation, or serious illnesses of the serviceman or his family members;
• injury of the serviceman or his relatives as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

To obtain funds, the serviceman submits a report to the commander along with confirming documents. The decision on payment is made by the commander's order within the budget of the unit. Assistance can also be provided to mobilized personnel from budget institutions if similar payments were not provided at their previous place of work.
