Mate XT 2 by Huawei: Pushing Boundaries in Foldable Phone Technology

According to НВ — Техно: Huawei has launched its third-generation triple-fold smartphone, the Mate XT 2, in China. Drawing design inspiration from the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, this model introduces a privacy-focused display technology and folds inward three times, featuring a 10.2-inch flexible screen that balances usability with compactness. Notably, the phone is the first foldable device to incorporate a display similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, enhancing user privacy.

The device runs on Huawei’s Kirin 9050 Pro chipset and offers a premium configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for an additional 1000 yuan (around $150 USD). It also boasts an IP59 rating, ensuring strong resistance to water and moisture.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the Mate XT 2’s triple rear camera setup, which includes:

  • A 50MP primary camera with an RYYB sensor and adjustable aperture ranging from F1.49 to F4.0;
  • A 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom;
  • A 40MP ultra-wide angle camera featuring RYYB technology.

Huawei has also integrated its third-generation Red Maple color camera system, which improves color accuracy by 95% compared to the previous model.

Additional features include an ECG sensor for heart rate monitoring and the Harmony OS 7 operating system. For enhanced user convenience, the Mate XT 2 includes a built-in kickstand to support media viewing on the internal display. The phone’s starting price in China is set at 19,999 yuan (approximately $3,000 USD).

Huawei Broadens Its Product Range with Automotive Ventures

In another move to diversify its portfolio, Huawei, in partnership with BAIC, has begun pre-sales of the Stelato G9 SUV in China. Priced at 439,800 yuan ($65,120 USD), this 5.2-meter-long vehicle is available with two powertrain options: EREV and BEV, delivering up to 586 horsepower. The Stelato G9 integrates a variety of Huawei’s cutting-edge technologies, illustrating the company’s expanding footprint in the automotive sector.
