Ukraine has received underwater demining robots: how this will change the situation
Training on the use of underwater devices in Cherkasy
A training session on the use of underwater devices for demining the Deep Trekker Revolution was held in Cherkasy, organized by UNDP Ukraine. 15 representatives from various agencies participated, gaining essential knowledge for demining aquatic areas.
During the training, participants not only theoretically studied the material but also acquired practical skills. They practiced real scenarios of humanitarian demining and received certificates upon successful completion.
“Modern humanitarian demining requires innovation. The use of remotely operated underwater devices is not just a technical update but a change in approach. These technologies allow for complex tasks underwater with minimal risk and maximum efficiency.”
- noted the Director of the Department of Mine Action Sergey Reva.
The training participants discussed further cooperation together with representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, and the embassies of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Denmark in Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of humanitarian demining for public safety and navigation.
The training participants gained not only knowledge but also practical skills in using underwater devices for demining, contributing to the safety and effectiveness of the humanitarian demining process in Ukraine.
