Instagram restricts live streaming: who will lose the ability to broadcast
According to glavcom.ua: Instagram has made an important change: now, in order to conduct live broadcasts, users need to have at least 1000 followers. Previously, there was no such requirement, and it has caused a wave of dissatisfaction among users. Many are demanding the cancellation of such a condition, considering it unfair. There may also be an economic reason behind this – perhaps Meta's management wants to save money on hosting live streams.
Instagram's innovation may be related to improving content quality and preventing the spread of low-quality broadcasts. Furthermore, Meta Platforms, which owns Facebook, has faced the threat of a lawsuit in Washington due to allegations of monopolizing the social media market. In this context, changes to Instagram may also be aimed at political goals that are important to Meta.
