Meta and PlayCity blocked Instagram bloggers for advertising casinos: what they violated

According to glavcom.ua: Meta together with the state agency PlayCity blocked the accounts of seven Instagram bloggers who actively advertised online casinos. The bloggers posted videos with winnings and links to casino websites in their Instagram stories.

Let us remind you that advertising gambling in Ukraine can only be done on certain platforms specified by law. An obligatory condition is that the age restriction of 21+ must be indicated in the advertisement. The state agency PlayCity aims to make the gambling industry more controlled and transparent, and has already punished eight licensed casinos for violating the legislation.

This situation is yet another step in the fight against illegal gambling advertising in Ukraine and indicates the seriousness of government agencies in controlling this sector.
