New disability assessment system
The Ministry of Health has announced the introduction of a new daily functioning assessment system for people who have experienced captivity. Their experiences and health consequences will now be taken into account.
Civilian's route after captivity
The first step is to apply to the Commission at the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development to establish the fact of deprivation of personal freedom. This may lead to the inclusion of data in the Unified Register of persons deprived of freedom and the issuance of the relevant document.
The treating physician submits an electronic referral for assessment, after which the expert team analyzes the medical documentation and makes a decision regarding disability and rehabilitation programs.
Military personnel's route after captivity
After release, military personnel undergo treatment and rehabilitation, enter a special register, undergo a military medical commission, and receive a decision on disability.
After assessing disability, the person can take advantage of state support programs, receive a pension, or free sanatorium-resort treatment.
It has been reported that a new disability assessment system has been established for individuals who have experienced captivity. The innovation involves taking into account the experiences and health consequences of these individuals, as well as a simplified procedure for obtaining disability status and support from the state.
