Austrian UNIQA Invests in Ukraine: What Plans Does the Insurance Giant Have for 2026
Investment Plans of UNIQA Insurance Group AG in Ukraine
During a meeting between the Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny and his First Deputy Sergiy Nikolaychuk with a delegation from UNIQA Insurance Group AG, the plans of the Austrian insurance group in Ukraine were discussed.
During the meeting, support was expressed for participation in insuring corporate risks amidst the ongoing state of war and future reconstruction of the country, as well as assistance in creating a full-fledged insurance for military risks.
“This is what we expect from any international business that is still present in the Russian Federation,” emphasized Andriy Pyshny. “The Russian market was and is toxic, and the money earned in Russia is bloody, as it is precisely this money that allows the Russians to continue the war and kill Ukrainians.”
Development of the Insurance Sector in Ukraine
Andriy Pyshny thanked the representatives of the UNIQA group for exiting the Russian market and expressed support for the decisive steps that have been taken in this direction. The group has ceased business operations in Russia and has withdrawn investments from this market. UNIQA plans to invest in the Ukrainian economy in 2026.
The parties discussed the potential for the development of the insurance market in Ukraine and identified opportunities for growth in the capacity of this market. UNIQA is ready to expand its business in the life insurance sector and invest in the Ukrainian economy.
UNIQA Insurance Group AG expressed plans for investments and development of the Ukrainian insurance market aimed at supporting the country under conditions of martial law and aiding in the economic recovery.
