Despite U.S. Strikes, Iran Has Restarted Its Drone Production
Iran Rebuilds Its Military Capabilities
According to ХВИЛЯ: Iran has partially resumed the manufacturing of attack drones during a six-week truce that began in early April. U.S. intelligence now estimates that Tehran is restoring its military capacities far more quickly than Washington had anticipated. According to intelligence assessments, Iran could fully rebuild its drone strike capability within six months, while its missile production has suffered more severe damage.
Support from Russia and China
Tehran is receiving backing from both Russia and China, with Beijing continuing to supply missile components even amid the ongoing conflict. In April, American intelligence estimated that roughly half of Iran's missile launchers had survived the strikes. The latest report raises that figure to two-thirds. Additionally, thousands of Iranian drones remain operational-about half of the pre-war inventory-and most of Iran's coastal anti-ship missiles have also survived intact.
On Tuesday, CENTCOM commander Admiral Brad Cooper testified that Operation Epic Fury had destroyed 90% of Iran's defense industrial base. However, intelligence data obtained by CNN contradicts that assessment. According to a U.S. official,
“the Iranians have beaten every timeline for reconstruction that the intelligence community had projected.”
Still, the strikes on Iran's defense industrial base set back recovery by months, not years, and some production capacity was never hit at all.
Iran's military rebuilding efforts are causing serious concern among the international community, as they could destabilize the region. The preservation of a significant portion of Iran's missile arsenal enables the country to continue threatening shipping in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. In this context, it is crucial to monitor future intelligence reports and the responses of international actors, as the situation may shift depending on Iran's actions and those of its partners.
As Iran continues to enhance its military capabilities, the implications of these developments are becoming increasingly concerning. Recent reports highlight a significant recovery in Iran's military strength, challenging official assessments.
