Overnight Sunday into Monday, the capital faced an attack by Russian combat drones, resulting in hits in two districts and triggering fires. Witnessing the strike firsthand in central Kyiv, Herashchenko observed a large smoke plume, while police cordoned off the Academy building and emergency responders worked at the scene.

A Call for Immediate Action

In response to these attacks, Herashchenko demanded a closed-door meeting involving parliamentary leadership, military commanders, and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). She also announced that the European Solidarity party would push for confidential sessions of both the Coordination Council and the Verkhovna Rada to address air defense capabilities, the Armed Forces' readiness, and the state of civilian shelters.

Herashchenko stressed the necessity of receiving detailed updates on the status of air defense, domestic missile production, counter-drone technologies, and communication system protections following the assault.

Additionally, Russian forces launched an attack on Vyshneve in the Kyiv region, causing one fatality, injuring three others, and damaging five vehicles when a hostile drone crashed onto a busy roadway. Emergency teams promptly aided the wounded. Reports also indicate that the main Kyivstar office in Kyiv sustained damage during the strike.

Given the escalating security challenges, Herashchenko called on President Volodymyr Zelensky to convene a meeting with parliamentary faction leaders to strategize on strengthening national security measures.
