Italy will finance the restoration of the cultural heritage of the Odesa region
The Italian government will provide Ukraine with non-repayable assistance of €32.5 million for the restoration of the cultural heritage of the Odesa region. This was reported by 'Hromadske' citing the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications.During the Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine, a grant agreement was signed between Ukraine and Italy for the implementation of the program 'Restoration and Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of the Odesa Region'.
The program provides for the financing of the restoration of iconic cultural heritage sites in Odesa that have suffered as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. Among them are national monuments under the management of the Odesa Regional State Administration and the Odesa City Council.
- Odesa National Art Museum;- Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art;- Odesa Regional Philharmonic named after David Oistrakh;- Odesa Literary Museum;- Zontag House;- Marriage Palace.The agreement provides for restoration work, increased security and energy efficiency of buildings, adaptation for people with limited mobility, and updating of engineering infrastructure. The creation of the Odesa UNESCO Heritage Management Center is planned.Ukraine will receive significant financial assistance from Italy for the restoration of the cultural heritage of the Odesa region. This initiative aims to restore and preserve valuable monuments that have suffered from armed aggression.
