Ivano-Frankivsk will receive a new municipal route with duobuses

At the beginning of 2026, a new municipal route is planned to be opened in Ivano-Frankivsk, connecting the Positron microdistrict with European Square. Duobuses will operate on the line . This was reported by the city mayor Ruslan Marcinkiv during a broadcast on Radio 'Western Pole'. Public Broadcasting writes about it.

According to the city mayor, the city has received new duobuses and conducted a survey among residents regarding the optimal route option. Currently, the leading option connects Vovchynetska Street with European Square and runs through Petliura, Dovzhenko, and Mazepa streets to the 'Silpo' supermarket. At the same time, the transportation is still being received, and its registration is ongoing.

Ivano-Frankivsk new municipal route in 2026

For the stable operation of the route, according to city authorities, at least six to seven duobuses are necessary. Three additional units are planned to be kept in reserve in case of technical failures.

The launch of the route is tentatively scheduled for the end of January or the beginning of February 2026.

Ivano-Frankivsk duobuses for the new route

Currently, the city has already received four duobuses. To fully ensure the operation of the route, two to three more vehicles are needed. It is expected that all five additional units will arrive in January. In total, nine duobuses are expected to provide the connection between Positron, the city center, European Square, and the BAM microdistrict.

It is noteworthy that since mid-October, riding electric scooters, electric bicycles, and other personal electric transport has been prohibited in the center of Ivano-Frankivsk.
