According to Главком: In an interview with Dmytro Gordon, singer Ivo Bobul shared his perspective on why singers Ani Lorak and Taisiya Povaliy were unable to build their careers in Ukraine and now perform in Russia. Bobul stated that Ani Lorak found herself in a difficult position when she was presented with conditions that forced her to leave the Ukrainian show business scene. He suggested that Lorak became an inconvenient competitor for certain influential figures, which created significant obstacles for her career in her home country.

Bobul also referenced a 2012 incident where a fire broke out at a restaurant where Ani Lorak was performing. Following this event, the singer sought assistance from the Russian pop star Philipp Kirkorov. Bobul interpreted this move as a sign that Lorak had realized a return to Ukraine was no longer a viable option. According to him, Lorak simply wants to sing, but she is effectively barred from doing so in Ukraine.

The Case of Taisiya Povaliy

Regarding Taisiya Povaliy, Ivo Bobul emphasized that the artist also faced severe backlash for performing for former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
