Critical situation with Kazakhstan's oil exports

According to ХВИЛЯ: Kazakhstan is redirecting oil exports to alternative routes after an attack by Ukrainian maritime drones on the facilities of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in Novorossiysk. This situation has become critical as the attack that occurred on November 25 at 06:06 Astana time led to severe damage to the infrastructure of the maritime oil terminal.

The attack disabled an important facility – VPP-2. On November 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that due to hits on the infrastructure of the terminal in the port of Tuapse, the vertical tank RV-5000 was destroyed. This caused significant damage to the CPC facilities, which are vital for Kazakhstan's oil exports.

Action plan of the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan stated that to minimize negative consequences and maintain production levels at large fields, a plan to redirect oil export volumes to alternative routes has been activated. The situation is under special control of the government.

It is noted that any forceful impact on CPC facilities creates direct risks to global energy security and also significantly harms the economic interests of consortium participants, including Kazakhstan.

This situation highlights the vulnerability of Kazakhstan's energy infrastructure in the context of escalating military conflicts in the region.

Kazakhstan is currently trying to reduce dependence on traditional export routes, which could have long-term implications for its economy and global energy markets. The situation also indicates how military actions can impact the integrity of international energy communications and oil price stability.
