Kate Middleton to Make First Official Overseas Trip in Three Years
Princess Kate's Visit to Italy
According to Главком: Next week, the Princess of Wales will travel to Italy for her first international official engagement in over three years. The two-day trip centers on the work of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, an initiative she established in 2021 under The Royal Foundation. The visit will take place in Reggio Emilia, where the center is located.
This journey marks a step in Kate Middleton's gradual return to royal duties following cancer treatment. Her last official overseas visit was to Denmark in February 2022. On May 6 of this year, she launched a guide titled 'The Basics for Life: A Guide to Social and Emotional Development' for working with young children. During that event, she visited the University of East London, where she engaged with families, educators, and students.
Kate Middleton's Health and Recovery
In January 2024, Kate Middleton was hospitalized and diagnosed with cancer. Chemotherapy sessions forced her to postpone public responsibilities. She publicly disclosed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024, noting that chemotherapy had begun the previous month. On January 16, 2024, she underwent major abdominal surgery, which was deemed successful, though her condition was not initially considered cancerous. Post-operative tests later confirmed the presence of cancer. In September, the princess announced she had completed chemotherapy, and in 2025, she declared she was in remission.
Kate Middleton is looking forward to this trip.
A Kensington Palace representative remarked that 'the last nine months have been incredibly difficult,' highlighting the significance of her return to active duties, particularly in child-focused work.
Kate Middleton's visit to Italy underscores her commitment to early childhood development and marks a crucial milestone in her personal recovery after a serious illness. This trip could prove pivotal for her future engagements, as the princess aims to intensify her charitable work, especially in supporting children and their families.
