Nearly 30 Million Hryvnias Allocated for Kyiv Residents Ahead of City Day
One-Time Financial Aid for Kyiv Day
According to Главком: As part of the "Turbo. Towards Kyivites" program, the city of Kyiv will distribute approximately 30 million hryvnias in one-time financial assistance to 35,000 socially vulnerable residents in celebration of Kyiv Day. This initiative targets individuals from 17 distinct population categories.
Payment Amounts by Category
Under the program, eligible recipients will receive varying amounts based on their specific group:
- 1,500 hryvnias will be provided to:
- Righteous of Babyn Yar,
- Participants in the 1941 defense of the capital,
- Veterans of the underground partisan movement,
- Parents of conscripts who died during peacetime.
- 1,000 hryvnias will be provided to:
- Repressed individuals and their family members,
- Orphans,
- Recipients of assistance for children with disabilities in subgroup A.
- 800 hryvnias will be provided to:
- Families with children with disabilities,
- Large families,
- Guardians,
- Recipients of aid for children of deceased breadwinners.
It is important to note that individuals qualifying under multiple categories will receive only the single highest payment. Meanwhile, those fully supported by the state are not eligible for these funds.
Additionally, according to the Kyiv City State Administration, the birth grant stands at 7,000 hryvnias. A technical glitch previously caused delays in these payments, but the issue has since been resolved and funds have been transferred to banks.
This program represents a significant effort to support vulnerable groups in Kyiv, especially amid the socio-economic challenges the city faces. The disbursements tied to Kyiv Day can help improve the financial standing of many families and underscore the municipal government's commitment to social welfare. However, the need to address technical errors in birth grant payments highlights the importance of efficient management and timely execution of social initiatives.
In addition to the financial aid for Kyiv Day, it's worth noting that nearly 170,000 families across Ukraine have already benefited from new child support payments. This initiative highlights the government's ongoing commitment to enhancing the welfare of vulnerable populations.
