New 'My Deputy' Feature in the Kyiv Digital App

According to Главком: Users of the 'Kyiv Digital' application can now access a new tool called 'My Deputy,' which offers detailed profiles of Kyiv City Council members. This feature provides contact information, proposed decisions, voting records, and attendance statistics. Designed to enhance transparency and accountability, it empowers residents to take a more active role in shaping their city's future.

With 'My Deputy,' citizens can find out:

  • Who represents their district;
  • Contact details for deputy reception offices;
  • Track the policy proposals deputies are working on;
  • Review meeting attendance, voting outcomes, and adopted resolutions.

The app also includes a 'Guide for Active Citizens,' which explains how the Kyiv City Council operates.

Enhanced Notifications and Official Comments

Beyond the 'My Deputy' service, 'Kyiv Digital' now offers upgraded notifications regarding public transit. Users can receive alerts about closed metro entrances, delays on the city's ring railway, and other key transportation updates. Additionally, parents can enable instant alerts to monitor their children's use of student travel passes on public transport.

“Digital services should bring government closer to the people and make it more understandable. 'My Deputy' is about transparency and accountability, as well as providing simple, fast access to information.”

Valentyn Mondryivskyi, Kyiv City Official

Myroslava Smirnova, another city council representative, added: “Being accountable to the community that elected a deputy is not just a formality-it is a vital tool of democracy. We see how the world is changing, and we understand that there must be more channels for communication. They need to be convenient, accessible, and tailored to people's needs.”

The introduction of 'My Deputy' in the 'Kyiv Digital' app marks a significant step toward increasing the transparency of local government and ensuring council members are answerable to their constituents. This service enables citizens to engage more actively in decision-making processes that affect their lives, fostering a more open dialogue between Kyiv residents and their elected officials. In today's technology-driven world, such initiatives can greatly improve city management and encourage broader civic participation.
