Kyiv prepares for outages: shortage of water and bread, electric transport halted
Situation with Water and Electricity in Kyiv
According to Главком: Kyiv and the region are facing a shortage of drinking water and increased demand for bread due to fears of prolonged power outages. The capital is experiencing a shortage of water in large bottles in some stores, and the shelves with five-liter jugs are sometimes completely empty. These problems arose against the backdrop of shelling that occurred on January 13, which led to a shortage of electricity.
Infrastructure Restoration
In light of these circumstances, the movement of all ground electric transport on the Right Bank of Kyiv has been suspended. Dozens of alternative bus routes have been launched to meet passenger needs. Additionally, about 500 high-rise buildings in the capital remain without heating, complicating the situation for residents. Repair teams are working around the clock to restore normal living conditions in the city.
The situation in Kyiv and the region indicates serious problems with infrastructure and the provision of basic needs for the population. In the context of a military conflict and prolonged shelling, city services and authorities are facing significant challenges in ensuring the stability of water and heating supply, which is critically important for the comfortable living of residents.
Further actions to restore electricity supply and water provision will be crucial for normalizing life in the capital.
