Kyiv restricts metro movement due to energy crisis
According to Главком: In Kyiv, due to the complex energy situation, the metro operations are limited, particularly on the red line, where train traffic is only available on the segment 'Akademmisternko' – 'Arsenalna'. Trains do not run across the Dnipro to the left bank stations. The interval on the red line is 6 minutes.
On the blue and green lines, metro operations continue as usual. The situation in the energy system worsened on December 27, when several serious fires were recorded in Kyiv due to drone strikes on residential buildings. As of 11:10, 28 injured have been reported in the capital, of which 13 people have been hospitalized.
Restrictions in metro movement
The restrictions in metro movement are part of measures aimed at managing energy resources during the crisis.
The restrictions on movement in the Kyiv metro reflect the seriousness of the energy crisis, which has arisen due to external attacks on infrastructure. This also highlights the need for transport systems to adapt to new conditions to ensure passenger safety and efficient use of energy resources. The situation continues to remain complex, and further changes in metro operations may be necessary depending on developments in the energy sector.
