Kyiv After Drone Strike: Residential Buildings Ablaze, People Evacuated

According to Главком: On December 27, 2025, several fires were recorded in Kyiv caused by drones hitting residential buildings. In particular, incidents occurred in the Darnytsia and Dniprovs'kyi districts. The Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported partial destruction of a 24-story building and the evacuation of 10 people from a nursing home that was also affected by the fire.

The situation in the Darnytsia district remains tense due to the threat of fire spreading. Flames engulfed several residential buildings in the private sector of this area. A fire broke out on the fourth floor of an 18-story building in the Dniprovs'kyi district, further complicating the situation.

According to Vitali Klitschko, the 24th and technical floors of the 24-story building hit by the drone were partially destroyed. As of now, 10 people have been evacuated from the nursing home in the Darnytsia district. Rescue services are working at the scene to eliminate the aftermath of the fires and ensure the safety of residents.

This incident underscores the growing threat to the civilian population amid military actions occurring in Ukraine.
