Kyiv Introduces Cleaning Teams in Entrances: Is the Increase in Tariffs Justified?
Residents of the capital can now observe a new initiative from the municipal services - cleaning teams in the entrances of apartment buildings. These teams use vacuum cleaners and steam generators to clean walls, windows, and floors. So far, this practice has only been implemented in the Darnytskyi and Obolonskyi districts of the city.
According to information from the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Petro Panteleev, the teams operate within the framework of the existing housing management service and have a developed cleaning schedule. They conduct thorough cleaning using various technical means, such as steam generators and vacuum cleaners.
The introduction of these teams became possible after the increase in housing maintenance tariffs in March. Now the cost of housing maintenance has almost doubled, which has allowed for the optimization of municipal services and improved conditions in apartment buildings.
At the same time, experts express doubts about the ability of such teams to ensure cleaning in all buildings in the city. Oleg Popenko, head of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services, believes that this initiative is merely a formal reason for raising tariffs and does not address the problem of staff shortages in the utility service sector.
A new initiative has been introduced in Kyiv - cleaning teams for cleaning entrances in apartment buildings. This service coincides with the increase in housing maintenance tariffs, raising doubts among some experts regarding the real benefits for the residents of the city.
