Kyiv Seeks Public Feedback on Proposed Parking Fee Changes Until March 13
Most Common Parking Violations in Kyiv
According to Главком: The Kyiv City Department of Territorial Control has published a list of the most frequent parking violations its inspectors encounter. Topping the list are instances of stopping or parking where prohibited by road signs 3.34 'No Stopping' and 3.35 'No Parking'. Other common infractions include parking within 10 meters of driveway exits or intersections, as well as parking on sidewalks.
Parking Fee Review and Digital Services
Separately, the city is conducting a review of parking tariffs for on-street spaces managed by the municipal enterprise 'Kyivtransparkservice'. A draft ordinance detailing the proposed changes has been published on the official portal of the Kyiv City State Administration for public discussion, which will remain open until March 13.
To assist drivers, the 'Kyiv Digital' app offers a real-time service showing available parking spots in the 'Hourly Parking' section. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize urban mobility. Currently, 83 of the city's 330 parking lots, equipped with 219 monitoring cameras, are integrated into this live occupancy system; 200 of these lots are located in the central, first parking zone.
The published list of violations highlights the ongoing challenge of parking compliance in the capital, which impacts both traffic safety and general convenience. Adjusting parking fees could be a significant step toward improving the situation, as more appropriate pricing might help reduce infractions. The expansion of digital tools like 'Kyiv Digital' also aims to simplify the process for drivers by helping them locate available spaces more efficiently and save time.
