The first passengers of the new season will be participants in the national project 'Plich-o-plich'.

Operating Schedule and Ticket Costs

Passenger services for the summer season start on April 25, with trains running on Saturdays and Sundays. The first departure is at 10:30 AM, and the last at 6:50 PM. Ticket prices vary by carriage type:

  • Standard carriage: from 110 UAH;
  • Retro carriage: from 130 UAH;
  • Luxury class carriage: from 150 UAH.

The Kyiv Children's Railway fleet includes a steam locomotive, three diesel locomotives, 11 passenger cars, three freight cars, and a handcar. In February 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia announced plans to introduce winter operations. The railway is set to begin its 72nd season during the first May weekend in 2025. The festive opening will feature students from Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia, with 47 children from frontline communities in the Dnipropetrovsk region as special guests.

The launch of the summer season is a significant milestone for the young railway enthusiasts, offering them a platform to showcase their skills and earn recognition. It also highlights the role of railway transport in providing children with hands-on experience in this field. Moreover, the inclusion of children from frontline areas in the celebrations underscores a spirit of support and unity during challenging times, contributing to social stability in the region.

The launch of the summer season at the Kyiv Children's Railway not only marks an exciting time for young railway enthusiasts but also aligns with broader initiatives in the transportation sector. Recently, Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced family-friendly carriages on key routes, enhancing travel experiences for families across the country. This move complements the efforts to make railway travel more accessible and enjoyable for children and their parents alike.
