According to Главком: Ukrainian movie theaters welcomed six new films and one re-release on March 26, 2026. The lineup includes a special 20th-anniversary re-release of 'Twilight', celebrating two decades since the original novel's publication. Audiences can also look forward to:

  • two Ukrainian productions,
  • an American horror sequel,
  • a European drama,
  • a thriller,
  • and a British family fantasy film.

Production Details and Budgets

The film 'I See You', produced by 'White Films' with support from the State Film Agency (Derzhkino), was made on a budget of approximately 12 million UAH. Filming took place in Odesa from April to June 2025. The horror sequel 'Hide and Seek: I'm Coming to Find You' continues the story from the popular 2019 film. This sequel was shot in Toronto between April and June 2025 with a budget of $14 million. Notably, the first 'Hide and Seek' film, made for $6 million, earned over $57 million at the global box office in 2019. The sequel had its world premiere on March 13, 2026, at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Texas.

The film 'Scammer' was shot in Kyiv. Another title, 'Eagles of the Republic', was produced with a budget of €9 million. Filming for 'Eagles of the Republic' occurred in Istanbul and in studio facilities in France and Germany. Its world premiere was on May 19, 2025, in the main competition of the Cannes Film Festival, and it later won six awards at the 2026 Swedish Guldbagge Awards.

Production for 'The Secret Worlds of the Magic Tree' began in June 2024 at Shinfield Studios in Berkshire. The original 'Twilight' film was released on November 21, 2008, and the entire franchise has grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide. This diverse slate of releases highlights a significant recovery for the Ukrainian film market following the pandemic.
