Keir Starmer's Absence at the Conference

According to Главком: The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, was unable to participate in a telephone conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky due to a lack of time. Instead, the conversation was represented by Jonathan Powell, the British National Security Advisor. This conference took place between the President of Ukraine and the leaders of European countries, however, the meeting was not planned in advance.

Keir Starmer, who previously had a phone conversation with Donald Trump on December 21, discussed with him the issues of ending the war in Ukraine. Additionally, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom also held talks with the leaders of France, Germany, and Italy. Starmer's absence at the conference raised certain questions since the importance of communication with the Ukrainian president is beyond doubt amid the ongoing war.

The Importance of International Coordination

This situation emphasizes the importance of international coordination on security issues and support for Ukraine. In the context of conflict, interaction between state leaders is critically important for shaping common policies and strategies. The absence of the Prime Minister at the telephone conference may indicate the need for greater flexibility in managing schedules and priorities to ensure the participation of key figures in important negotiations.
