China and Russia conducted new joint missile defense exercises: details of the maneuvers
China and Russia conducted the third round of joint missile defense exercises
According to glavcom.ua: The Ministry of Defense of China released information about the third round of joint missile defense exercises that took place on Russian territory. This news was disseminated by Reuters agency.
It is noted that the exercises were not aimed at any third party and were not a response to current international events. Recently, both countries have actively discussed issues regarding missile defense and strategic stability. In August, they participated in artillery and anti-submarine exercises in the Sea of Japan.
Strategic partnership between Russia and China
Russia and China signed an agreement on a 'limitless' strategic partnership before Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. They agreed on regular military exercises to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between their armies. The states expressed discontent over the idea of U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the creation of a missile shield 'Iron Dome' and plans to resume nuclear tests after a long hiatus.
Interestingly, Vladimir Putin, the leader of Russia, signed a decree on visa-free entry for Chinese citizens. According to this document, Chinese nationals will be able to stay in Russia without a visa for up to 30 days for tourism and business purposes.
From September 15, 2025, China has introduced a trial visa-free regime for Russian citizens with regular foreign passports.
As a result of the third round of joint missile defense exercises, China and Russia reaffirmed their strategic partnership and solidarity in the face of growing geopolitical threats in the world.
