JAKA Launches Advanced Robots at CIIF 2026 in Shanghai

According to НВ — Техно: At the 2026 China International Industry Fair (CIIF) in Shanghai, Chinese robotics firm JAKA introduced two cutting-edge industrial robots: the Kargo50 wheeled humanoid and the Zu50 manipulator arm. Designed to enhance manufacturing automation, these robots focus on container transportation and assembly tasks. Founded in 2014, JAKA specializes in collaborative robotics and artificial intelligence, positioning itself at the forefront of industrial innovation.

Specifications and Capabilities of the New Robots

The Kargo50 expands on the company’s existing line of wheeled humanoid robots, purpose-built to shuttle containers and materials between workstations on factory floors. While detailed technical specs for the Kargo50 remain undisclosed, its development builds on the success of the smaller Kargo10 model, which is already widely deployed in automotive parts and high-tech electronics manufacturing. Notably, Kargo10 has reduced container handling time from 105 seconds to just 28 seconds, and the robot can be fully integrated into new workflows in as little as 57 days.

The Zu50 manipulator is engineered to lift loads up to 50 kilograms, with an extended reach of 2.1 meters. Its joint rotation speed has been increased by 50%, benefiting from integrated drive modules and a high power-density control system. Demonstrations at the JAKA booth showcased two Kargo robots working in tandem: one transporting components while the other fastened screws, highlighting seamless collaborative capabilities.

Coordinating these robots is JAKA’s EVO operating system, unveiled in 2025, which facilitates synchronized operation through a cloud-based platform that handles perception, task planning, skill selection, and adaptive decision-making for unexpected situations. The EVO system combines rule-based frameworks with motion planning and force control, supported by a dedicated motion controller running at 1000 Hz for precise responsiveness.

Additionally, in June 2026, JAKA showcased the compact humanoid robot Pi, standing 1.22 meters tall and weighing 42 kilograms. These advancements underline JAKA’s rapid progress in industrial automation and its commitment to integrating innovative technologies into manufacturing environments.

The debut of these new robotic solutions at CIIF 2026 highlights the accelerating role of automation in industry, promising significant reductions in operational time and enhanced production efficiency.

Building on the proven performance of Kargo10, these latest models are positioned to transform production capabilities across sectors such as automotive and electronics. The adoption of robotic platforms like JAKA EVO also offers potential improvements in workplace safety and a decrease in human error within manufacturing processes.

As robotics technology continues to advance, innovative solutions like the Kargo50 and Zu50 are paving the way for enhanced automation in various industries. In a similar vein, researchers have developed a miniature robot capable of impressive physical feats, showcasing the potential of compact designs in dynamic environments. This evolution in robotics highlights the growing trend towards versatile and adaptive machines that can perform complex tasks efficiently.
