When should teachers expect a pay raise
Teachers all over Ukraine will start receiving their first increased salaries this week. From January 1, 2026, the salaries of educators in schools will rise by 30%. This decision was made as part of the government's education support policy, which is one of the state's key priorities. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this.
The government emphasizes that the teaching profession must be competitive and well-paid. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is tasked with working with regional military administration leaders and local government bodies to address all issues in the regions to ensure timely and full payment.

Supplementary payments to teachers in 2026 and the next stage
In addition to salary increases, additional payments will be maintained throughout the year. Teachers will receive a monthly supplement of 2000 hryvnias, while educators from frontline communities will receive 4000 hryvnias.
The second stage of the pay increase is also planned. From September 1, 2026, the salaries of all categories of educators will additionally rise by another 20%. The government notes that this is part of the phased reform of compensation in education.
Ukrainian teachers continue to work even in the difficult conditions of the war, ensuring an uninterrupted educational process during air alerts, shelling, and power outages.
