Former Social Policy Minister Pavlo Rozenko on Life After Government
An Interview with Pavlo Rozenko
According to Главком: In a recent interview, former Ukrainian Minister of Social Policy Pavlo Rozenko reflected on the impact of his time in office and his current activities. Rozenko, who served as minister from 2014 to 2019, developed a distinct vision for social policy during his tenure. He shared his perspective on what remains after a career in government, offering a candid look at the personal costs of public service. His tenure coincided with a period of significant reform and conflict in Ukraine following the 2014 Revolution of Dignity.
Rozenko acknowledged that his role came with considerable challenges beyond just professional experience. He remarked wryly,
"I raked out everything that could be raked out from 2014 to 2019. And that was definitely not money or houses. All I raked out was an extra 30 kilos in weight, grey hair, and hate."
This statement reflects not only his personal feelings but also the harsh realities of political life.
Current Work and Personal Life
Today, Pavlo Rozenko works as an expert consultant and, alongside his wife, TV presenter Olena-Khrystyna Lebid, promotes brands on social media. He emphasized that he and his wife "share a certain outlook on life" and actively support each other in their public endeavors.
"I am simply happy that she is in my life. We are on the same wavelength. She understands me, I understand her. And this harmony in our relationship is the best thing,"
Rozenko added.
Rozenko also recalled his youth, when he organized school discos, worked as a DJ, performed in theater, and played in the KVN comedy league. "I was involved in all that at university, performed in theater, and played KVN. It helped me immensely in public life," he noted. He credits this background with giving him the confidence to be himself, even in the political arena.
It is worth noting that Rozenko maintains an active social media presence, using it for professional discussion, while his wife focuses on more personal content. Recently, he posted a humorous photo on Facebook of himself in beige trousers, demonstrating his sense of humor and desire to stay connected with his followers.
Pavlo Rozenko's interview provides a compelling glimpse into the lives of politicians after their high-level careers conclude. It underscores that even after leaving government service, former officials often remain active in public life, leveraging their acquired skills and experience. Furthermore, Rozenko's personal life and collaborative work with his wife on social media illustrate new forms of communication and mutual support in the modern world.
