According to ХВИЛЯ: In an interview with political analyst Yuriy Romanenko, former Ukrainian ambassador Serhiy Korsunskyi shared his perspective on the escalating tensions in the Middle East, driven by the actions of Iran and Israel. He noted that the region, a zone of strategic interest for both the United States and China, is now engulfed in serious conflicts. Korsunskyi likened the situation to 'fighting fire with fire,' suggesting that new conflicts might be initiated in an attempt to end the existing war. The Regional Situation

The former diplomat believes the regional war is not limited to Iran. Israel is currently conducting a ground operation against Lebanon in an attempt to deal with Hezbollah. Furthermore, Korsunskyi commented on Iran's actions, specifically an attack on a British base in Cyprus. He called this 'the height of foolishness,' stating that the command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) acted chaotically, provoking a negative reaction from many countries.

'Why it was necessary to attack the British base in Cyprus is probably something no one can explain,' said Serhiy Korsunskyi.

Korsunskyi also offered thoughts on the potential consequences of the escalating conflict. If the situation can be controlled and resolved within a month or two, it will have one outcome. However, if the conflict drags on, events could transform into a prolonged campaign, similar to the war in Iraq, with entirely different consequences.
