The committee supported Zelensky's bill on NABU and SAP: when the voting will take place
According to hvylya.net: The committee of the Verkhovna Rada on law enforcement activities recommended adopting the bill on restoring the independence of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau. The decision was supported unanimously.
MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the next day the bill will be brought to a vote in the Rada chamber in two readings.
Let us emphasize that NABU Director Semen Kryvonos had previously highlighted the importance of adopting the bill in its current form, as there is a risk of interference from the Prosecutor General and access to the cases of anti-corruption agencies.
Recently, 70 deputies from the party 'Servant of the People' refused to support the restoration of the independence of NABU and SAP.
After years of disputes and conflicts, the committee's recommendation could be a step towards strengthening the restoration of independence for anti-corruption agencies in Ukraine, which is already actively discussed in parliament.
