The R-Noid Humanoid Robot by Robot.com

According to НВ — Техно: Robot.com has launched the R-Noid, a humanoid robot designed for automating tasks in industrial operations, logistics, and other sectors-offered through a "robot-as-a-service" model. From initial assessment to autonomous operation, the deployment process takes approximately 8 to 12 weeks. This approach allows businesses to integrate robotics without large upfront investments, making advanced automation more accessible.

Standing 1.7 meters tall and weighing around 90 kg, the R-Noid features two manipulators, each with 7 degrees of freedom and capable of lifting up to 4 kg. It also includes an articulated torso with 4 degrees of freedom. Its vertical working range spans from ground level to 6.2 feet (1.9 meters). Equipped with a mobile base for omnidirectional movement, the robot can operate without requiring modifications to existing facilities.

Solution Categories and Applications for the R-Noid

Robot.com offers five solution categories for the R-Noid:

  • restaurant assistant
  • packer
  • picker
  • assembly operator
  • administrator

These solutions target various sectors, including industrial operations, logistics, healthcare, food service, hospitality, and event venues. Key applications for the R-Noid include:

  • assembling cardboard boxes
  • packing products
  • moving items from conveyors
  • processing plastic parts
  • order picking
  • kitchen service
  • folding laundry

The robot runs on the π0.7 artificial intelligence model, developed by Physical Intelligence, and leverages the NVIDIA ecosystem, including embedded NVIDIA Jetson computing modules. Its battery provides approximately 3 hours of autonomous operation, while the power system also supports continuous connection to the grid for extended deployments. The use of NVIDIA Isaac Sim enables simulation, validation, and testing of the R-Noid's manipulation capabilities.

In summary, the R-Noid humanoid robot from Robot.com opens up new possibilities for automation across diverse industries, streamlining routine tasks and boosting operational efficiency.

This innovation could mark a significant step in integrating robotics into everyday processes, potentially lowering costs and increasing productivity across numerous economic sectors. The adoption of such solutions may fundamentally reshape traditional work and service approaches in various fields.

As the field of robotics continues to evolve, innovative designs like the R-Noid pave the way for more sophisticated applications. In a similar vein, the AI Sapiens humanoid robot has made headlines by learning to dance through smartphone videos, showcasing the potential for humanoid robots to adapt and learn from their environments. This highlights the growing trend of integrating advanced AI capabilities into robotics, making them more versatile in various sectors.
