В Україні створять законодавчі умови для відтермінування служби добровольців у війську.

Changes to the Law 'On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization' are intended to eliminate the legal uncertainty faced by program participants after the end of their contract. Previously, they could be immediately called back into service after completing their term. However, the legally guaranteed deferment will allow volunteers to recover and undergo medical and social rehabilitation after a year of service.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has received government approval for a bill that provides a 12-month deferment from mobilization for volunteers of the 'Contract 18-24' program. Support for the relevant document was expressed at a Cabinet meeting on Friday.

In February 2025, the Ministry of Defense launched the 'Contract 18-24' initiative for young Ukrainians aged 18 to 24 who are ready to join the Defense Forces for one year. The program includes financial rewards, professional training with experienced instructors, and social guarantees for participants.

After receiving government approval for a deferment from mobilization for participants of the 'Contract 18-24' program, the establishment of legislative guarantees for volunteers will allow them to undergo rehabilitation and regain their strength after a year of service. Such changes are aimed at addressing legal deficiencies and ensuring greater support and protection for program participants.
