Christie’s will offer costumes and accessories from “The Devil Wears Prada 2” at auction this autumn. The online sale runs from September 1 to 15 on the Christie’s website. Because it lands just ahead of Fashion Week, the event is expected to draw particular attention from followers of both style and cinema.
Standout Lots in the Sale
A major highlight is the bright Gabriela Hearst dress worn by Anne Hathaway. In the film, Andy accidentally spills her lunch on it, leaving visible food stains. The patchwork-style piece also appears in the Hamptons party scene, when Andy borrows it from the wardrobe of the fashion magazine Runway. The original Gabriela Hearst dress retails for approximately $7,900, but the auction price has not been announced.
Also up for sale is a fringed Dries Van Noten jacket worn by Meryl Streep. Other lots include:
- a Schiaparelli black-and-white blazer connected to Miranda Priestly;
- a diamond and platinum Bone Cuff from Tiffany & Co., contributed by Emily Blunt;
- items associated with characters played by Lady Gaga, Simone Ashley, and other cast members.
For audiences, this auction is a major crossover event between film and high fashion. The screen-used pieces carry historical significance and are directly tied to beloved characters, letting fans feel closer to the story. With its timing before Fashion Week, the sale also highlights how deeply cinema and global fashion trends influence each other.
