Mourning in Kryvyi Rih

According to Главком: The city of Kryvyi Rih has marked June 24 as a day of mourning for victims of a Russian missile attack. Three people lost their lives in the assault: two men aged 25 and 34, and a 54-year-old woman. An additional 25 individuals sustained injuries. Currently, 20 wounded are hospitalized, with three in serious condition and one in extremely critical state. Among the most severe cases are a young man and an elderly woman, both fighting for their lives.

Aftermath of the Attack

The strike used an Iskander-M ballistic missile equipped with cluster munitions, targeting the city's infrastructure. The victims were found roughly 200 meters apart from each other. Oleksandr Vilkul, head of Kryvyi Rih's Defense Council, stated:

“People died about 200 meters away from one another because of this barbaric weapon… This is yet another bloody crime by the Russian occupiers.” – Oleksandr Vilkul

To date, missile and drone attacks on Kryvyi Rih have killed 118 civilians, including 16 children. Each life lost is a shared tragedy for our community.

Efforts to manage the aftermath of the missile strike are ongoing in Kryvyi Rih. Oleksandr Vilkul emphasized that medical teams are doing everything possible to save the injured:

“Three of them are in serious condition, one is in extremely critical condition, and a young man and an elderly woman are in extremely critical, life-threatening states.” – Oleksandr Vilkul

The President of Ukraine also commented: “Every such day and every Russian strike proves that the pressure on the aggressor for this war is insufficient.”

This tragedy underscores the devastating impact of war on civilians in Ukraine. As Kryvyi Rih grapples with the attack's consequences, the rising toll of dead and wounded highlights the urgent need for international action against aggression. When peaceful residents become targets, it is crucial for the global community to focus on supporting Ukraine and aiding the victims. Addressing the fallout from such assaults requires coordinated efforts at all levels to protect lives and ensure safety.

In the wake of the missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, the situation remains dire as local hospitals continue to care for the injured. This incident echoes a similar tragedy in Kyiv, where 21 individuals are still hospitalized following a recent Russian missile attack. The ongoing impact of these assaults on civilians highlights the urgent need for comprehensive support and awareness regarding the human cost of the conflict.
