Legendary athlete criticizes Great Britain for the participation of Russians at Wimbledon
Legendary Czech player and public figure Dominik Hasek expressed his criticism of the organizers of the tennis tournament at Wimbledon due to the participation of Russian athletes. He noted that participants from Russia have not renounced their support for the war, so their presence at the tournament is unacceptable.
«These competitions in Great Britain are becoming an advertisement for the Russian war and other crimes. The organizers must be held accountable for the harm caused to Ukraine,» wrote Hasek.
Dominik Hasek has long opposed the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in show business after the aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine. Known as a famous goalkeeper, he is an Olympic champion and a two-time Stanley Cup winner.

Elina Svitolina successfully began her participation in Wimbledon-2025, defeating Hungarian Anna Bondar in the first round in two sets. In the first game, the Ukrainian made a break and won 6-3, while in the second, she gave her opponent only one game, finishing with a score of 6-1.
