Lemurian Lake was formed as a result of a Soviet aviation incident in 1969 when a military plane crashed here. During the accident, a pit formed in the ground, which filled with brine from underground sources. Over time, this place became a unique natural phenomenon. The high salt content (1.5 times higher than that of the Dead Sea) and specific algae create the lake's unique pink tint.

The name "Lemurian" derives from the hypothetical continent Lemuria, which some myths suggest existed in the Pacific Ocean. It is believed that the lake possesses not only physical but also energetic power. Locals claim that the water here "restores strength," and the salt and mud have healing properties for the skin and joints.

Due to the difficulty of the last stage of the journey (especially in the rainy season), it's advisable to ensure you have suitable transportation or comfortable footwear for the walking part of the trip.

Fishing at the Lake

Unlike traditional bodies of water, Lemurian Lake is not suitable for fishing. Due to the extremely high salt concentration, it lacks living organisms, including fish. This lake resembles a natural salt pool more than a typical water body.

However, there are small freshwater ponds and channels near the lake where locals sometimes fish. If fishing is important to you - it's worth checking with guides or locals about nearby places where you can find suitable spots.
