UK, France, and Germany Hold Talks with Ukraine in New Diplomatic Push
E3-Ukraine Summit Takes Place
According to Зеленський: A high-level meeting in the E3-Ukraine format brought together Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, Friedrich Merz, and a Ukrainian representative. The discussion centered on the battlefield situation in Ukraine, Russian casualties, defense against ballistic threats, reinvigorated diplomacy, and Europe's role in these efforts.
Participants highlighted that over the past five months, the aggressor has suffered more than 30,000 troops killed or wounded. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated:
“Russia is not winning on the battlefield.”
He also stressed the importance of mid-range strikes and diplomatic actions, which “significantly limit its ability to expand aggression.” Addressing ballistic threats, Zelenskyy noted:
“it is very important to have protection against ballistic threats, which the Russians use to terrorize our cities and communities.”
This issue became a key focus of the talks, as the safety of Ukrainian towns and communities remains a top priority.
Diplomacy and Europe's Role
The meeting also explored ways to step up diplomatic efforts and define Europe's role in the process. Zelenskyy remarked that “for Ukraine, it has always been a priority that Europe's position and voice in negotiations be strong.” As a result, the teams agreed to work on next steps to strengthen cooperation and support for Ukraine amid ongoing aggression.
The E3-Ukraine summit marked a significant step in reinforcing international backing for Ukraine and outlining strategic directions for future action.
This gathering underscores the growing global solidarity with Ukraine as it faces continued Russian aggression. Discussions on key issues like ballistic defense and diplomatic momentum reflect a shared commitment among Ukraine's partners to ensure its security and stability. Clearly, the collaboration aims not only at military support but also at bolstering diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
As the diplomatic landscape evolves, Zelensky's recent meeting with opposition leader Tsikhanouskaya at the Kyiv Summit of 24 nations further emphasizes the importance of international collaboration. This gathering highlights the united front against aggression and the commitment of multiple nations to support Ukraine's sovereignty and security.
