Foreign Nationals Face Lithuanian Court Over Terror Plot

According to Главком: Lithuanian prosecutors have sent a criminal case to court against six foreign nationals accused of planning a terrorist attack in September 2024. The target was the company UAB TVC Solutions in Šiauliai, a supplier of equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Lithuanian Prosecutor's Office confirmed the case was forwarded to court on January 12, 2024, with a 258-page indictment submitted to the Šiauliai District Court on January 14, 2024.

The Accused and Their Charges

The six defendants hold various citizenships:

• one Spanish citizen,
• one citizen with dual Spanish-Colombian nationality,
• and individuals from Colombia, Cuba, Russia, and Belarus.

The most serious charge carries a potential prison sentence of 5 to 15 years. One suspect has already been arrested in Colombia, and his extradition process is underway. Investigations concerning four other suspects are ongoing. This case highlights the complex, transnational nature of security threats facing European nations supporting Ukraine.
