Lubinets announced the execution of a Ukrainian prisoner by Russians
A video is circulating on social media that likely captures the execution of a Ukrainian soldier captured by Russians. The footage shows a person being tied to a motorcycle and dragged along the road. The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, called this incident a gross violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, considering it another war crime of the Russian Federation. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Dmytro Lubinets.
Dmytro Lubinets emphasized that such actions are 'demonstrative cruelty'. He has already sent official letters to the United Nations (UN) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), urging international organizations to respond to this act.
«Russia acts as a terrorist state. And for every crime, there must be just punishment», – stated the Ombudsman.
Lubinets appealed to citizens who may have witnessed such violations or have any information about the fate of Ukrainian soldiers or other war crimes. He urged them to report this immediately to the Ombudsman of Ukraine's hotline at 0800 50 17 20 and to law enforcement agencies.
«These testimonies are vital for establishing the truth. Such information will contribute to the documentation of war crimes, ensuring legal responses and holding perpetrators accountable in accordance with international and national law», – emphasized Dmytro Lubinets.
The Russian military executed the Ukrainian soldier, reported the Ombudsman, urging citizens to provide information about such violations.
