Lviv will again acquire a batch of new buses with loan funds
Lviv's municipal ATP-1 will be able to attract up to UAH 51 million in loans for the purchase of ten new buses. The vehicles are planned to be directed to routes to the villages of the community, Bryukhovychy and Kryvchytsi, where local residents complain about the performance of private carriers. This is reported by «Lviv Portal».
Loan for buses for Lviv is designed for five years
The approval for the loan was granted by the deputies of the Lviv City Council at the session on July 30. ATP-1 will be able to secure a loan from a state bank for an amount not exceeding UAH 51 million for a period of up to five years.
The interest rate will be 9% per annum with a possibility of reduction to 7%. The specific bank and model of the buses have not yet been announced by the company.
It is known that they plan to acquire ten mid-class buses. They are planned to be used to strengthen routes in Zavadiv, Zarudtsi, Mali Hrybovychi, the housing estate Pod Osnova in Bryukhovychy, and the microdistrict Kryvchytsi.
New buses in Lviv are expected to replace weak carriers
The municipal ATP explains the need for purchases by numerous complaints from residents. People complain about the deterioration of the quality of transportation provided by private companies on certain routes.
For the city, this is a way not only to update the fleet, but also to have greater control over the regularity of trips. After the arrival of the buses, ATP-1 will be able to add vehicles specifically to problematic routes or strengthen them during peak demand hours.
This is not the company’s first loan purchase. Last year, ATP-1 purchased ten low-floor Ataman buses with air conditioning for UAH 43.5 million with borrowed funds. It took about two months from the purchase to the first vehicles being put into service.
At the same time, Lviv is preparing to acquire another 48 low-floor Electron buses with a loan from the European Investment Bank for EUR 14.4 million. Thus, the planned purchase of ten vehicles is part of a larger update of the municipal transport.
We remind passengers of Lviv transport that the electronic ticketing in LeoCard has been simplified.
